Kittrell Journals Collection

The Kittrell Journal Collection includes copies of the Kittrell Journal. Within these journals, Pleasant Williams Kittrell documented his interactions with patients of his medical practice. The memoir was written by Van Deavender, the grandfather of Sylvan Cohen of Huntsville, Texas. The original Civil War memoir was given to Sam Houston State University by Sylvan Cohen in 1984. The memoir was transcribed by Charles Dwyer.
